3. I can apply it to my life because I must be able to use all of my talents to be successful. When I play basketball, I use all my skills in order to score a point. I don't care who my opponent is, I try to show them my best. If I do my best, I recognize that they play harder, and I enjoy basketball even more. If they are better than me, it drives me to do better and I can pull out all the talent in me.
This matters because sometimes I just see people give up. They just waste their talent.I have this friend, Pasco, who was a very talented biker. He could do amazing tricks. He just wasted his talent by getting hooked on weed. It's a shame because now he can't do the tricks he used to do.

We all have multiple talents and gifts and its important for us them to the best of our ability. Many people go through life thinking they don't have a talent. Some go through life knowing their talent and ignoring it. It's important and necessary for us to embrace that talent in some way or form. When we do this, we are then allowed to be truly successful.
Bombeck makes a really good point by this quote. She emphasizes the amount of talent we have even when we don't realize it. God gives each of us a purpose in life and within that is an even deeper meaning. This can be applied in thousands of ways. More importantly it should be applied after you accept the fact that there is talent in every indivisual.

When you're old the last thing you should be thinkning about is what you could have done better or your regrets. When you become and old woman or an old man you should think back with a smile on your face remembering what you did and be happy that you have no regrets.
When I' old, I want to be happy with my life. Every single bit of it. Even with the things that didn't turn out the way I wanted them to beacause if it had happened, I might not be where I am today. In applying this to life I remember I hated being in a mariachi band. I for one knew that I didn't want that talent that I had enjoyed for so long to just be laughed at. I wanted to be fitting in but sometimes I just wanted to show them as I had no idea what it had in store. Soon enough my friends were able to figure it out as they were one day at a performance as they were stunned to see me there. Though I was scared I actually began to like it more as I was able to do more stuff with the mariachi and that's one talent I don't want to lose for the rest of my life.
